Ivy’s Cafe & Bar in Hanham offers a relaxed spot for locals looking to enjoy well-made coffee alongside straightforward, comforting food. Situated within Hanham Hall, this cafe blends a cozy, homely atmosphere with minimalist decor, making it a nice choice for anyone wanting a casual catch-up or a quiet moment with a book.

Their coffee stands out as a reliable pick-me-up, appreciated especially by those who tend to be particular about their brews. Pairing it with simple offerings like a bread pudding or one of their classic breakfasts, such as the English Breakfast or Eggs Benedict, makes for a genuinely satisfying start to the day. Visitors often come here not just for coffee, but for the comfortable, friendly environment where staff take care to make you feel welcome, benefitting groups ranging from families to solo visitors taking a break from errands or work.

Lunch options and cakes also get attention, hinting that the place works well beyond just morning hours. The space can be ideal if you’re looking for somewhere to wait out a bit of downtime nearby — perhaps while running local errands or even waiting for a nearby appointment, as one visitor noted it being just the spot to relax before a car MOT.

Best times to visit tend to be mid-morning through early afternoon when the vibe is calm but lively enough to enjoy the company of friends or family. Whether stopping by for a chai latte, a freshly made prawn cocktail starter, or a slice of lemon meringue tart, you’ll find this independent cafe maintains a welcoming, down-to-earth charm that matches the local Hanham scene well.

Fantastic!!!! Such a lovely little place we discovered to enjoy and meet with friends and family. The breakfasts were yummy, really welcoming and great value. The Chai Latte was delightful and will definitely be back to try their lunch’s and especially the cakes next time, as they looked very yummy. Thank you so much for a lovely time and it is great to see these independent business deliver great services in their own unique ways :)

I'm usually quite skeptical of Cafes in particular thanks to my love of coffee, the food and atmosphere of a cafe but Ivy's Cafe is superb. I ordered a regular black coffee and a bread pudding before walking into the back and taking a seat. The decor was minimalist and cozy, homely, in a word. The cup of coffee was about as large as the bread pudding and both of them were £5.50 total (imagine my surprise). I'm extremely skeptical of coffee made in a machine but this cup was amazing, smooth with no hint that anything was burnt with a nice flavour and aroma which far exceeded my expectations. The bread pudding was very filling, Cakey and fruity with a lovely crisp top. The people there were extremely friendly and their service was very efficient as well as eager to know what I thought of their food haha. Overall a 5/5 experience for me, if I lived in bristol it would be my go to frequent every time I'm in need of a cafe. This is what a cafe should be and I hope they can stay around for years to come.

Another fab breakfast at Ivy's! Everything is cooked from fresh and arrives hot. The portions are generous and prices are fair.

Had the small English breakfast, everything cooked to perfection, lovely cup of double espresso as well, nice outside space, it's set in a new development so easy to miss, could do with some extra signage as it's definitely worth a visit
